The School of Medicine has received nearly $4.2 million from the Alzheimer’s Association to accelerate the launch of the first clinical trials to prevent Alzheimer’s disease before symptoms become apparent. John C. Morris, MD, the Harvey A. and Dorismae Hacker Friedman Professor of Neurology, heads the Dominantly Inherited Alzheimer’s Network at WUSTL.

Through a new partnership between the Habif Health and Wellness Center and the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology, students now can have diagnostic X-rays taken on the South 40. This partnership makes quality medical care even more accessible to nearly 10,000 undergraduate and graduate students.

Yossi Aviv, PhD, was installed March 5 as the Dan Broida Professor of Operations & Manufacturing Management at Olin Business School. The professorship was established in 1984 by Roma Broida Wittcoff, a WUSTL alumna and trustee emeritus, in memory of her first husband, Daniel Broida, who died in 1981.

Kunal Agrawal, PhD, assistant professor of computer science & engineering, has won a Faculty Early Career Development Award from the National Science Foundation. The goal of Agrawal’s project is to design platforms that will allow programmers to easily write correct and efficient high-throughput parallel programs.

The No. 14 women’s tennis team finished 4-1 in five matches against ranked teams last week in California. Junior Kate Klein and sophomore Corinne Rauck went 4-0 at No. 2 doubles matches on the week, picking up key wins against No. 28 Trinity University, No. 21 UC Santa Cruz, No. 12 Bowdoin and No. 29 University of Redlands. The team has two weeks off before hosting NCAA Division II University of Missouri-St. Louis April 3.
