The annual George Washington Week, sponsored by the sophomore honorary Lock & Chain, kicks off today, President’s Day. This year’s theme is “Who is WU?” Carriage rides, keynote speakers, community service and silent auctions all are being organized with a focus on diversity and heritage on the WUSTL campus and in the greater St. Louis-area community.

Researchers at the School of Medicine, led by Philip Stahl, PhD, have identified a potent regulator of sensitivity to insulin, the hormone that controls blood sugar levels. The findings may help scientists find better treatments for type 2 diabetes, obesity and other health problems caused by a body’s inability to properly regulate blood sugar.

Like Seinfeld set to music, or a Dilbert cartoon sprung to life, this sketch comedy troupe both celebrates and eviscerates modern corporate culture in all its fast-talking, slow-moving absurdity.
