Global Metabolomic Initiative announced

Investigators at WUSTL and The Scripps Research Institute have announced the launch of a “Global Metabolomic Initiative” to facilitate meta-analyses on studies of the metabolism of bacteria, yeast, plants, animals and people. Although metabolomics has existed as a discipline for only a decade, it has already provided insights into many difficult-to-treat diseases, including chronic pain.

PAD presents The Night Season Nov. 15-18

Patrick Kennedy is a garrulous alcoholic, his every thought drenched in whisky and Shakespeare. His three daughters are variations on the theme of spinsterhood. Ah, but wait. All is not as it seems here in County Sligo. In The Night Season, playwright Rebecca Lenkiewicz both inhabits and upends the tropes of Irish drama. The Performing Arts Department will stage the contemporary comedy Nov. 15-18.

Women’s soccer advances
to Sweet 16

The women’s soccer team advanced to the Sweet 16 with a pair of victories last weekend. WUSTL advances to the sectional semifinals for the second-straight season and will play Concordia College (Moorhead) at 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at Francis Field. This is the first time in school history that the women’s soccer team has hosted the NCAA Sectional.
