In the centennial year of Tennessee Williams’ birth and 75th anniversary of his matriculation at WUSTL, the literary legacy of Williams (second from left) will be the subject of an Assembly Series lecture by Henry I. Schvey, PhD, professor of drama and of comparative literature, both in Arts & Sciences, at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, in Steinberg Hall Auditorium.

Next week, Slovenian philosopher Mladen Dolar, PhD, the Visiting Fannie Hurst Professor in English in Arts & Sciences, will lead a three-day series, titled “From Hegel to Freud and Kafka,” exploring the linguistics, metaphysics, ethics and politics of the voice as well as its use by Sigmund Freud, Georg W.F. Hegel and Franz Kafka.
