A new Danforth Campus Green Labs Initiative kicked off Friday, Sept. 16, in Brauer Hall in the School of Engineering & Applied Science. The program, which the Office of Sustainability hopes to spread across campus in the near future, seeks to educate faculty, staff and students and provide a plan of action to reduce energy consumption in laboratories.

Among the films being shown is Kamikaze Girls (2004) from director Nakashima Tetsuya.

The Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts and the Saint Louis Art Museum announce the selection of the next two Henry L. and Natalie E. Freund Teaching Fellows. New York artist Chelsea Knight, whose narrative-based videos, photographs and participatory performances explore the nature of social control and the current state of democracy, will serve as the fellow for the 2011-12 academic year. Stih & Schnock, a Berlin-based collaborative team that focuses on issues relating to collective memory, will be Freund Fellows for 2012-13.
