Brown School, Fudan form alliance
The Brown School recently launched a formal alliance with Fudan University, one of the leading universities in China. As part of this growing relationship, Fudan and the Brown School will hold a summer institute in Shanghai to develop policy and management skills for the first generation of social work leaders, NGO leaders and government officials. Time to renew annual U-Pass
The employee 2010-11 U-Pass — allowing WUSTL faculty and staff free use of Metro, the region’s public transportation system — will expire June 30. Benefits-eligible employees may request a new U-Pass for the 2011-12 fiscal year at the Parking & Transportation Services website. The new pass will be valid through June 30, 2012. FULL STORY

Baker to retire; search begins for new dean
A search committee to identify candidates for the position of dean of University Libraries has been appointed by Provost Edward S. Macias, PhD, executive vice chancellor and the Barbara and David Thomas Distinguished Professor in Arts & Sciences. Shirley K. Baker, vice chancellor for scholarly resources and dean of University Libraries, will retire after 23 years of service to WUSTL on June 30, 2012. FULL STORY

- Davis wins 110-meter hurdle national title. Junior Dan Davis captured the NCAA Division III 110-meter hurdle national title May 28. His performance was the highlight of the final day of competition for the men’s and women’s outdoor track and field teams at the 2011 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio.
