Scientists have developed a way to evaluate new treatments for some forms of attention deficit disorder. Working in mice, researchers at the School of Medicine showed that they can use brain scans to quickly test whether drugs increase levels of dopamine. Raising dopamine levels in mice alleviates attention deficits caused by neurofibromatosis type 1, a condition that affects more than 100,000 people in the U.S.

The No. 2 volleyball team posted a 3-1 record at the University Athletic Association Round Robin Oct. 15-16 in Rochester, N.Y. WUSTL entered the weekend having won an NCAA Div. III-record 63 sets, but the Bears had that run snapped with a 25-22 loss in the opening set against the University of Chicago Oct. 15. The Bears won the match, 3-1. The Bears are now 24-1, the only loss coming to No. 3 Emory University Oct. 16.
