Jazz at Holmes kicks off tonight
The St. Louis Nu-Jazz 5tet will launch WUSTL’s fall Jazz at Holmes series with a free concert at 8 p.m. tonight. The popular series features professional jazz musicians from around St. Louis and abroad — including saxophonist Nicole Johanntgen (right) — performing in Holmes Lounge most Thursday evenings throughout the academic year. - Medical Center Farmer’s Market open. The farmer’s market at the Washington University Medical Center is held every Thursday from 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. through mid-October. Only locally grown fruit and vegetables, preferably organic, are for sale. The market is located in the Fountain Plaza outside of the School of Medicine Bookstore.

- Volleyball off to hot start. The top-ranked volleyball team posted a perfect 6-0 record the first week of the season. The Bears opened their regular season with 3-0 wins over Greenville College and Harris-Stowe State University Sept. 1. They also won the Washington University Classic Sept. 4 and 5.
