Ventilation systems do not protect against secondhand smoke, study says

Students celebrate First Friday, the annual campus celebration marking the end of the first week of classes, by sliding down a giant inflatable slide Sept. 3. Jazz at Holmes kicks off tonight

The St. Louis Nu-Jazz 5tet will launch WUSTL’s fall Jazz at Holmes series with a free concert at 8 p.m. tonight.   • Volleyball off to hot start. The top-ranked volleyball team posted a perfect 6-0 record the first week of the season. The Bears opened their regular season with 3-0 wins over Greenville College and Harris-Stowe State University Sept. 1. They also won the Washington University Classic Sept. 4 and 5.
