Civic Action Week to host events that explore critical issues

Organized by the Gephardt Institute for Civic and Community Engagement, Civic Action Week runs Oct. 16-22. Events include the art exhibit “The Queer Experience: Joy as Resistance,” a panel about labor rights and a WashU Votes happy hour for graduate students.

The Americanist Dinner Forum will feature a roundtable conversation highlighting “Moving Stories,” a transdisciplinary project led by faculty focused on honoring the dignity of immigrant narratives. Kemper Art Museum.

Poet Simone White to discuss Pendleton’s work

Join the Bernard Becker Medical Library for a journey through time exploring the medical uses of food, drink and diet beginning with ancient Greece and medieval Europe. This rare book collection will be on display through Wednesday, Oct. 18, in the Glaser Gallery on the Medical Campus.
