Researchers at the School of Medicine, led by Vikas Dharnidharka, MD, have received a $5.7 million grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to investigate immune responses to a cancer-causing virus after organ transplantation in children.

Department name change reflects environmental focus

This fall, the Arts & Sciences department that has been Earth and Planetary Sciences has a new name: the Department of Earth, Environmental, and Planetary Sciences. Department Chair David Fike said the change reflects the growing emphasis on environmental science.
