Iconic American basswood to be replanted on campus

For approximately 110 years, the American basswood in Brookings Quadrangle was a home to bees, a backdrop for Commencements and a shady refuge for students, staff and faculty. It toppled during a June storm, but now, thanks to some tree experts, the tree will live on.

Sports memorabilia collection donated to University Libraries

University Libraries recently acquired the Lewis A. Levey Family Collection on Sports and Culture. The vast archive of programs, photos, books and other artifacts spans 75 years and focuses on sports’ historical and cultural impact, with an emphasis on the St. Louis region.

Gill installed as inaugural Nash professor in pediatrics

Michelle A. Joubert Gill, MD, PhD (second from left), a nationally recognized physician-scientist at the School of Medicine, has been named the inaugural Homer E. Nash Jr., MD, Professor in Pediatrics.
