PAD’s ‘Oresteia’ opens Friday

Can murder excuse murder? The Performing Arts Department in Arts & Sciences presents contemporary playwright Ellen McLaughlin’s adaptation of the epic Greek trilogy “The Oresteia,” which explores cycles of violence, the ironies of vengeance and the often-tangled search for justice. The play opens Friday, Feb. 24, and runs until March 5 in Edison Theatre in the Mallinckrodt Center.

Shannon LaDeau, a community and disease ecologist at the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies, will discuss the relationship between changing climate, urban greening efforts and mosquito-human exposure. It’s part of the Climate Change Speaker Series. Whitaker Hall Auditorium.

‘Wherein I Am’: Highlights from the Aaron Coleman Papers

Join University Libraries for an exhibit on the literary papers of poet and translator Aaron Coleman, a WashU alumnus, on display through May 21 in Olin Library’s Julian Edison Department of Special Collections Reading Room. WashU acquired the drafts of poems from Coleman’s first two books and other materials related to his time at the university.
