Global icon Goodall to give talk on ‘hope through action’

Jane Goodall, founder of the Jane Goodall Institute and UN Messenger of Peace, will share insights on her evolution from scientist to global icon during the lecture “Inspiring Hope Through Action” at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9, at the university. Due to an overwhelming response, registration to attend the lecture in person has closed. Livestream viewing will be available that day.

Jazz, Pop, New Music Festival

The Kemper Art Museum will host a contemporary jazz festival in conjunction with the Katharina Grosse studio paintings exhibition. The festival will include performances of reimagined classics from Bach, Beethoven and Mozart.

Exhibits and ongoing events

‘Life in St. Louis 1888-1905’ exhibit

Join University Libraries for an exhibit commemorating St. Louis native T.S. Eliot’s poem “The Waste Land,” published in 1922. The exhibit will examine St. Louis during Eliot’s formative years, 1888-1905. It will remain on display through Feb. 12 in Olin Library’s Special Collections Reading Room.
