Arvidson to give lecture on 50 years of exploring Mars

Raymond E. Arvidson, the James S. McDonnell Distinguished University Professor Emeritus in Arts & Sciences, will share highlights, reflections — and even rover driving lessons — gleaned from a half-century of investigating the red planet during a public lecture Wednesday, Sept. 7.

Sam Fox School fall lectures begin

Architects Hilary Sample and Thomas Phifer; artists Katharina Grosse, Derrick Adams and Meleko Mokgosi; and fashion icon Diane von Furstenberg are among the internationally known visual thinkers who will discuss their work during the Sam Fox School’s fall Public Lecture Series. ‘Fairytale Subjects in Illustration’ exhibit

University Libraries presents several examples of fairytale illustrations from the Rare Books Collection and the Dowd Modern Graphic History Library, organized by Tori Forster, a master’s candidate in illustration and visual culture. The exhibitions will be on display through Sept. 11. Olin Library, Julian Edison Department of Special Collections Reading Room.
