Ssewamala awarded $5.7M for work in Uganda

Fred Ssewamala, the William E. Gordon Distinguished Professor at the Brown School, along with colleagues, has received $5.7 million in two grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for work with at-risk youth in sub-Saharan Africa.

Nonlethal parasites reduce how much their wild hosts eat

Research from the Living Earth Collaborative highlights the cascading consequences of common parasitic infections. Although many such infections aren’t lethal, they still impact health or animal behavior, leading hosts to eat less vegetation. Amanda Koltz in Arts & Sciences led the study.
