PAD presents musical ‘Rent,’ opening today

The stage is set for “Rent,” Jonathan Larson’s Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award-winning rock musical about young artists struggling to survive in New York’s East Village. The Performing Arts Department (PAD) in Arts & Sciences presents “Rent” in Edison Theatre today through Sunday, March 6.

Acclaimed author, cartoonist, philosopher, screenwriter and essayist Charles Johnson, who won the 1990 National Book Award for his novel “Middle Passage,” will present the keynote address for the 2022 Faculty Book Celebration, presented both virtually and in person.

The men’s basketball team hosts the 2022 NCAA Division III men’s basketball tournament. The Bears welcome Wheaton, Hope and Cornell for the first and second rounds at the Field House. The Bears play Cornell at 5:50 p.m. Friday, March 4.
