University joins Midwest Climate Collaborative

The newly formed Midwest Climate Collaborative launched Jan. 28 during a virtual summit. Washington University is one of 30 founding members. Former St. Louis Alderwoman Heather Navarro, an alumna, is the collaborative’s inaugural director.

Miguel Valerio in Arts & Sciences co-edited a new collection of essays about lay Catholic brotherhoods in Latin America. It’s the first English-language book looking at how Indigenous and Black communities resisted Spanish imperial control.

Construction on BJC Institute of Health building starts Feb. 2

Construction on the six-floor expansion on top of the Steven & Susan Lipstein BJC Institute of Health building on the Medical Campus is scheduled to begin Wednesday, Feb. 2. Ellen S. Clark Hope Plaza will be closed during construction.
