Alumnus to deliver Walker lecture on solar system sampling

Scientist Kevin D. McKeegan, an alumnus and a distinguished professor at the University of California, Los Angeles, will give the Robert M. Walker Distinguished Lecture on sampling the solar system at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, virtually and at Whitaker Hall, Room 100, on the Danforth Campus. The event is sponsored by the McDonnell Center for the Space Sciences.

Kids on Campus will present a sketch comedy show featuring the comedic work of students at the university. The show is returning to an in-person performance at the Village Black Box after a year and a half of virtual shows.

In honor of Native American Heritage Month, the School of Medicine’s Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion will hold a virtual discussion of the truth about the first Thanksgiving and share resources for facilitating discussions with family and friends about inclusion.

‘The Science of Leaving Omaha’

Thursday, Nov. 18– Sunday, Nov. 21

In “The Science of Leaving Omaha,” playwright Carter W. Lewis brings sly humor and deep sympathy to a story of young people, stalled lives and the desperation for escape. Commissioned by the Performing Arts Department in Arts & Sciences, the play will receive its world premiere this weekend in the A.E. Hotchner Studio Theatre.
