MFA Student Dance Concert to begin streaming Saturday

“Pathways,” the Performing Arts Department in Arts & Sciences’ 2021 MFA Student Dance Concert, will begin streaming Saturday, March 27. The program will feature original choreography by Luewilla Smith-Barnett, Thomas Proctor and Leah Robertson.

Book talk with Laleh Khalili

Noon Monday, March 29

Laleh Khalili, of Queen Mary University of London, will give a talk on her new book, “Sinews of War and Trade: Shipping and Capitalism in the Arabian Peninsula.” The book explores the importance of maritime transportation and its role in global capitalism.

‘Overcoming Barriers to Justice’

The School of Law welcomes Olympia Bekou, professor at the University of Nottingham, for a discussion on justice in Liberia and beyond. The law school’s Leila Sadat will moderate the event, which is part of the Public Interest Law & Policy Speakers Series and the Assembly Series.

Nicole Williams, honorary guest scholar in the Department of Art History and Archaeology in Arts & Sciences, will deliver this talk on the struggle for women’s suffrage from 1870-1920.

Take part in a virtual opportunity tonight to join in solidarity, honoring the eight people killed, including six Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) women, in the March 16 Atlanta-area shootings, as well as the many Asian Americans who faced approximately 3,800 hate incidents during the last year.

Landscape Processes Discussion Series

The Sam Fox School presents a series of lectures supporting the Master of Landscape Architecture program. Seven practitioners will discuss their processes for moving the field of landscape architecture forward. Deaf landscape designer Alexa Vaughn-Brainard will kick off the series at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 30.
