In this video, Heidi Kolk, who teaches in both the Sam Fox School and in Arts & Sciences, discusses the significance of Dolores Hayden’s “The Power of Place.” It’s part of the “Books for 2020 and Beyond” series.

Arts & Sciences doctoral candidates Sayed Kashua and Olivia Lott have won literary honors for a pair of recent books. Kashua is working toward a doctorate in comparative literature on the international writers’ track. Lott is a doctoral candidate in Spanish and a graduate student fellow in residence in the Center for the Humanities.

The French Connexions Cultural Center at Washington University has been elected to the Centers of Excellence of the Embassy of France. Lionel Cuillé, teaching professor of French in Arts & Sciences, launched French Connexions and is its director.
