Hear from award-winning author and alum Susannah Cahalan

Award-winning author Susannah Cahalan, an Arts & Sciences alum, will join Leonard Green of Arts & Sciences for a chat at noon Wednesday, Dec. 16. Cahalan is author of the New York Times bestseller “Brain On Fire: My Month of Madness” as well as the new book “The Great Pretender.” This event is part of the Power of Arts & Sciences Week, which runs Monday through Friday, Dec. 14-18.

The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures in Arts & Sciences welcomes French novelist David Diop for a discussion in French about his book “Frère d’âme.” The conversation will be moderated by the department’s Lionel Cuillé.

As part of the Power of Arts & Sciences Week, Laura Meckler, a national education reporter for The Washington Post and an alum, joins in a discussion with WashU student journalists about discerning real news from disinformation.

Assembly Series: supporting inclusive households

The Social Policy Institute presents a discussion about building financial security by addressing the role that household financial situations play in economic growth. The discussion will include Chancellor Emeritus Mark Wrighton, among other speakers.
