It’s in this spirit that the 8th McDonnell International Scholars Academy Symposium will proceed, beginning with a virtual global town hall meeting Oct. 8. The event, featuring scholars from around the world, is free and open to the public.

How protecting wildlife can help to prevent pandemics

COVID-19 is not the first pandemic resulting from viral transmission from wildlife to humans, nor will it be the last. Moderated by Jonathan Losos in Arts & Sciences, a panel including David Wang at the School of Medicine and experts from the Saint Louis Zoo will discuss the biodiversity-pandemic connection.
