Susan W. Caine, former executive director of development communications, 68

in memoriam graphicSusan W. Caine, recently retired executive director of development communications at the university, died Feb. 2 following a lengthy struggle against brain cancer. She was 68. A celebration of her life will be held from 3:30-5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 10, in the Alumni House.

Notables

The Africa Initiative at the Institute for Public Health recently awarded three pilot grants of $10,000 each to research projects that will help advance health and human development in Africa. The pilot grant program fosters collaborative research between university faculty and scholars at institutional partners in Africa.
