Five PhD candidates at Washington University were inducted into the Edward A. Bouchet Graduate Honor Society at the annual Bouchet Conference on Diversity and Graduate Education in April at Yale University.

JPMorgan Chase & Co. recently awarded the Skandalaris Center for Interdisciplinary Innovation and Entrepreneurship a $100,000 planning grant as part of its Ascend 2020 Initiative, which is designed to help minorities and women create or scale their businesses.

engineering students prepare to graduateQuestion: The universitywide Commencement ceremony will take place May 17. On that day, what color of tassels and velvet hoods signifies students graduating from the McKelvey School of Engineering?
C) Academic regalia differs based on the level of degree as well as the school. Students earning degrees from the McKelvey School of Engineering have orange tassels on their caps as well as orange edging on the velvet hoods.
Congrats to this week’s winner, Kenly Taylor, who works at the School of Medicine and will receive an “I Knew WashU” luggage tag!
