Indigeneous Peoples’ Day gathering

Indigenous Peoples’ Day event to honor Native American women

Indigenous Peoples’ Day, which takes place Monday, Oct. 8, will be recognized on campus with a candlelight vigil outside Hillman Hall, featuring music, speakers and a blessing. The event is an opportunity to honor the original inhabitants of the Americas, rather than Christopher Columbus.

University trustee and alumnus Ralph Nagel has an exhibition of paintings, “Being There,” opening at the Bruno David Gallery today. The artwork will be on display through Nov. 17.

“The Color of Medicine: The Story of Homer G. Phillips Hospital” will be featured as part of the annual Homer G. Phillips Public Health Lecture Series. The film will begin at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at the Eric P. Newman Education Center on the Medical Campus, followed by dinner and a panel discussion. RSVP to attend.
