Buera installed as Cook Professor
Francisco Buera has been named the Sam B. Cook Professor of Economics in Arts & Sciences. Buera’s research focuses on the patterns of economic development across countries and over time.

Lime arrives at Washington University
Washington University is now partnering with Lime to bring bike sharing to campus. It’s another inexpensive and “green” way to travel. The company offers a 50 percent discount to community members with a valid .edu email address.

Research Wire
Hong Chen, of the School of Engineering & Applied Science and the School of Medicine, received a $2.7 million grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH)’s BRAIN Initiative to develop a noninvasive neuromodulation tool that works on the cellular level and uses focused ultrasound.
