Who Knew WashU?
 Question: In 2010, Monticello scholars discovered that Washington University owns the ____ – largest collection of Thomas Jefferson’s books.
B) third-largest A collection comprising 28 titles in 74 volumes was donated to the university in 1880. The books were determined to have been part of Jefferson’s personal library and now can be found in University Libraries’ Special Collections. This week, the library put on permanent display a rare copy of the Declaration of Independence. Some of the Jefferson books are included in that exhibit.

Alex Chen (left) and Yixi Wang, seniors majoring in biology in Arts & Sciences, have been awarded the 2018 Ralph S. Quatrano Prize. The prize is awarded to the thesis showing greatest evidence of creativity in design, research methodology and/or broader scientific implications.
