Project to replace key administrative systems advances

The university soon will begin a multiyear effort to replace its aging human resources, finance and student information systems with a single, integrated system. The new program is called MyDay.

NCI director talks immunotherapy, cancer research on Med Campus

Norman E. “Ned” Sharpless, MD, director of the National Cancer Institute, visited the Medical Campus this week for a symposium and a town hall. He stressed a “full-throated, unapologetic commitment to basic science.”

Wysession to speak on climate change for Assembly Series

Michael Wysession, of Arts & Sciences, sees many connections between climate change and the novel “Frankenstein,” which marks its 200th anniversary this year. Wysession will give an Assembly Series lecture on the parallels at 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 7.

WashU Experts: Retail giants step in to regulate

Two U.S. retailers made moves this week to regulate their gun sales. Two university experts say these actions represent “an expansion of corporate social responsibility,” even if the retailers may face consumer backlash.

Danforth Staff Council town hall planned March 13

The Danforth Staff Council will hold its spring 2018 town hall meeting from 2-4 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, in Hillman Hall’s Clark-Fox Forum. An update on the chancellor’s search and a discussion of the administrative systems replacement project are among topics to be covered.

Free vehicle inspections for travelers next week

The university’s Police and Parking Services departments, in partnership with Hartmann’s Car Care and Towing, once again will sponsor free travelers’ vehicle inspections for students, faculty and staff. New this year, the service will be offered from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday, March 5-9, at Hartmann’s, 6615 Olive Blvd.
