Opening minds, doors, opportunities

The university’s Office of Technology Management is organizing the Women in Innovation and Technology symposium later this month. The event is one way the office is helping to educate, train and guide women through the commercialization process.

Forum for Women in Medicine boosts female physicians, trainees

During a gathering with female medical residents a few years ago, Rakhee K. Bhayani, MD, was troubled by the gender bias they described. So she created the Department of Medicine’s Forum for Women in Medicine to support the development of female trainees.

Health departments must plan for retirements, study finds

State health departments are lagging in planning for the replacement of retiring employees, according to a Brown School study published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine.

Writer and alum Block to share his story

Award-winning novelist and alumnus Stefan Merrill Block will be on campus to discuss his journey as a writer. Block will speak for the Assembly Series at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13. His talk is also the Arts & Sciences Connections Lecture.
