This year’s winners of the Dean James E. McLeod Freshman Writing Prize have been recognized. They are Gabriella Ruskay-Kidd (right) and Ella-Marie West (center); Luka Cai Minglu received an honorable mention. The prize awards students in Arts & Sciences who engage in research that explores an aspect of race, gender or identity.

Gregory Bowman, of the School of Medicine, received a five-year, nearly $1.5 million grant from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for research titled “Allosteric impact of non-active-site mutations on enzymatic function.”
