New use for a pesky weed

Dandelions are much-maligned weeds, with a paratrooper-like seed dispersal system that makes them difficult to eradicate. But new research from engineer Guy Genin finds the dandelion has a great benefit: Its tiny seeds can be used as pipettes in the lab.

East end project to feature Tisch Park

A prominent feature of the transformed east end of the Danforth Campus will bear the names of university alumna and trustee Ann Rubenstein Tisch and her husband, Andrew. The couple is providing a lead gift in support of the project.

‘Beauty and the Beast’ characters serenade pediatric patients

Students at the School of Medicine sang songs from the musical “Beauty and the Beast” for patients at St. Louis Children’s Hospital last week. The students performed in the school’s annual musical April 27-29.
