Drug combo effective against chikungunya arthritis in mice

Combining a drug for rheumatoid arthritis with one that targets the chikungunya virus can eliminate the signs of chikungunya arthritis in mice in the disease’s earliest stage, School of Medicine researchers found.

Albright, Hadley to discuss Middle East policy tomorrow

Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and former National Security Advisor Stephen Hadley will be on campus for a public forum on “A New Approach to the Middle East.” The event will begin at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, in Graham Chapel.

David Kirk, professor emeritus of biology in Arts & Sciences, works to improve evolution education for students. He leads the Institute for School Partnership’s annual Darwin Day celebration for K-12 teachers, which will be Saturday, Feb. 11.
