JD Long, of Alberici Construction, will join the university Monday, Oct. 10, as associate vice chancellor for facilities planning and management, announced Henry S. Webber, executive vice chancellor for administration. Arthur J. Ackermann is stepping down.

Vaccine target identified for deadly form of malaria

Researchers at the School of Medicine have identified a potential vaccine target against Plasmodium vivax, a parasite that causes malaria in millions of people worldwide every year.

A team at the School of Engineering & Applied Science, led by Patrick Crowley, has received a $499,960 three-year grant from the National Science Foundation to focus on further developing the concept of Named Data Networking. The research aims to boost online security and functionality.
