Study finds vast diversity among viruses that infect bacteria

A School of Medicine study suggests bacteriophages made of RNA – a close chemical cousin of DNA – likely play a larger role in shaping the bacterial makeup of worldwide habitats than previously recognized.

Community event to focus on research, responses to gun violence

One year after the launch of “Gun Violence: A Public Health Crisis,” members of the university community will gather Tuesday, April 5, to focus on “Research, Reflection and Responses.” The event will be from 4-7 p.m. in Knight Hall’s Emerson Auditorium.

Center studies history, tools of biotech industry

Learn more about the Center for Research Innovation in Biotechnology and its director, Michael Kinch. The center has researched the history of drug discovery and development and is now looking at what factors lead to new medicines being approved.
